Fleet Card Credit Representative

Department: Credit Collections
Location: Trussville, AL

General Summary:

The Fleet Card Credit Representative performs various responsibilities surrounding credit management of Fuelz Fleet Card accounts including accounts receivable, credit approval and extension, and collections.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Analyze customer applications and credit reports for determination and extension of credit for new and existing customers.
  • Pull credit agency reports for new and existing fleet card accounts.
  • Analyze and monitor fleet card portfolio account agings, and communicate with Credit Manager regularly.
  • Actively work with customers to collect delinquent accounts.
  • Process customer ACH payments.
  • Assist fleet card customers with questions and problem resolution.
  • Communicate with Sales and Customer Service departments regarding fleet card account needs.
  • Cross train in other general, non-fleet card Credit department functions including cash receipts postings processing to be able to serve as backup, as needed.
  • Perform Credit related tasks in fleet card vendor system.

Position Requirements:

  • A minimum of five years previous experience in Credit or Accounting.
  • Build professional relationships with business partners, customers, and all levels of management.
  • Advanced computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel software. Previous sophisticated ERP system experience a plus.
  • Experience in JD Edwards and/or iFleet, FleetNet, MDUI preferred.
  • Strong business management and financial skills.
  • Proven customer service skills and the ability to resolve problems and prevent customer dissatisfaction while ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Commitment to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers with a good sense of urgency.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and good telephone techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to look for ways to improve and promote quality.
  • Proven data entry skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
  • Ability to think critically and bring fresh perspective and ideas to the team.

Working Conditions:

The work of this position is performed in a controlled office environment. This position requires the ability to work under pressure and communicate with a diverse population including other employees, customers, vendors, etc. This position also requires prolonged periods of sitting in a regular seated position as well as the use of general office equipment including phones, printers, computers, (mouse, keyboard, etc.)
